27th June 2007 - ECLIPSE Conference - Brussels, Belgium

This conference focused on initiatives implemented in European local transport policy to tackle social exclusion. The conference programme brought together the academic world, EU institutions, national ministries, local experts and technicians.

As well as providing an opportuntiy for dialogue between transport and social sectors, the conference provided information and discussion on:

• Building local partnerships between transport and social sectors to combat social exclusion
• Physical accessibility of public areas and public transport
• Good practice examples from across Europe
• The role of technology in linking transport measures and social inclusion
