FIT Consulting organised the Italian National Workshop on October 2nd 2006 on the topic: “The ECLIPSE Project and Social Inclusion”. The goal of the National workshop was to provide a platform for discussion between actors involved in providing collective transportation and social assistance.

After an introductory session presenting the framework, facilitating a discussion, a review of the National Budget 2007 situation was made by Federmobilità with a specific focus on the role of transport in Social Inclusion, followed by a presentation about the ECLIPSE project. The first session was closed by a review of national experiences and the ECLIPSE project activities in achieving a synergy to create socially inclusive transport.

In the following session a discussion about the barriers and the opportunities for avoiding social exclusion by increasing the role of collective transport took place.
